Fight To The Finish

Have you ever felt the warmth of the light and then start to see that light dimming? Sometimes, in the recovery process, things seem to get worse before they get better. Once we make the decision to begin the journey we also begin a journey of ups and downs and unpredictability. From personal experience I know that part of recovery means being ALL IN. Anyone who is all in knows that the “bad days” will outweigh the good at first, but if you are all in then you stay and fight. If things seem to be getting worse then be confident because that means you are doing everything right.

I am in that stage now where the light is fading and I feel like I am trying to find my way in the dark. The only reason I keep going is because I know that there is a light at the end and it is there that I will feel the HOPE. It may be cold now, but that light holds warmth and this is just another obstacle to overcome. I have come this far, there’s no way I can stop now. My worst day in recovery is far better than any day with an ED so I have to get worse before I get better, but that means I am on the right track. So no matter where you are in recovery, just because things seem to be getting worse that doesn’t mean the light is gone. Everyday is a fight and every fight is a struggle, but every struggle is another chance to overcome and every time you overcome that struggle the closer you get to the light and to the HOPE and to RECOVERY. No one said this was going to be easy, that’s why we are survivors. That’s why I am a survivor.
